Tymoshenko let down her braid

Today BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko came to parliament with flowing hair, what caused excitement among the deputies.

According to Party of Regions deputy Taras Chornovil, “Tymoshenko looks better without her braid, she looks younger.” “Now you can fall in love with her, but before she reminded me a SS-Standartenführer.”

According to the deputy, when Tymoshenko braids her hair, something changes in her expression; her look becomes more severe and even embittered.

BYuT leader in an interview to journalists explained that she simply had no time to braid her hair and promised that her new hairstyle is just for one day.

Tymoshenko asked not to focus attention on her appearance. “As every normal woman I sometimes change my hairstyle,” she summed up.

Before Taras Chornovil defected you could love him, but now he reminds me of a member of the old guard making little new sense in the political quagmire of Ukraine.
Pravda (17:41 | 11 January,2007)
Taras who? Who the **** is he? How can he compare Yulia Timoshenko with a SS-Standardenführer? Does Taras Something know what a SS-Standardenführer is? Timoshenko has a jewish background, thats for sure, and Mr Taras Something is yelling ariund Stuff like that - unbelievable. Wow Ukraine "Party of the Regions", your guys are real democrats. The Janu Staff stinks like hell.
Chevalier (11:37 | 12 January,2007)
How does it looks like? Aren't there any good Intercoiffures or Hairdresser in Kyiy or Dnipropetrovsk or whre the Lady is messing arround (London, Grenoble or whereever)???? To get a Braid is much more simple as to style this "Lassie look" with all the fake hair - even Victoria Beckham has realize that fake hair sucks.
Makc (19:52 | 12 January,2007)
The braid is gone...and so have her Morals now that she is working with the PR and this Criminal Coalition!! THE BRAID IS GONE, HOPE IN BYUT HAS GONE WITH IT.
Misha (05:02 | 13 January,2007)
Isn't it funny how on the day that she betrays the whole country and what Maidan stands for she also removes the symbolic and a cultural piece of her life... The braid is a part of the Ukrainian culture which truly shows who she is now. Sad day to observe.
Gene (17:25 | 13 January,2007)
Exactly my thoughts Makc and Misha. The day her braid is gone she changes her stance and gives the dictator wannabe more power. She looks beautiful without her braid...but I fear that instead of seeing beauty...I see my anger at her for her latest move. Yulia...how could you do this? We believed in you!
Makc (21:06 | 14 January,2007)
Gene and Misha and ALL Ukrainians who believe in Democracy. Understand now, that this whole time BYuT and the Socialists have been blaming Our Ukraine for everything and everything....this was all LIES and COVERS to "Justify" their Betrayls of the Ukrainian people and the Maidan. PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND!!! Our Ukraine has been the honest one this whole time, we have ALL been decieved. I used to support Moroz....those days are gone. Supporters of BYuT OPEN YOUR EYES and looks at it Realisticly NOT Optimisticaly.
oluk (11:42 | 15 January,2007)
Gene - it's a different kind of beauty - the kind that one uses to sell merchandise - it is straight out manipulation and the slobbering men in the VR have gone for it the bait hook, line and sinker.
Maryna (19:39 | 15 January,2007)
guys-do you remember that any time I ever commented on her I always said that she was not to be trusted and that I believed her only loyality was to herself?
Paul (21:44 | 15 January,2007)
Gentlemem, Gentlemen, please. Has anyone read the full text of this lousy law to begin with. I am also disappointed in the over riding of the veto however, the PM cannot nominate anyone unless there is inaction on the part of the President. With Yushchenko sadly inaction is a daily part of leadership. My insiders tell me that is why Byut supported it. Besides to date Yushchenko still will not sit down with the opposition, but contrinues to set up meetings with yanukovich and moroz, so what kind of loyalty to his former orange commrades is he showing. I got news for you. Many of OU as well as Byut do not trust Yushchenko. And Makc, Yekhanurov has publicaly admitted that Yushenko was calling the shots during coalition talks, and back dooring the coalition for a grand coalition with russian punk bitch yanukovich. Sadly it is now a free for all because of indecision by OU, and Yushchenko. She looks good, and I'll take her to dinner to keep her straight! Slava Independent Ukraine.
Pravda (22:54 | 15 January,2007)
Yulia just want to show how s*** she can be - her braid was off for only one day. That's probably the political business of Ukraine. Everything is different to western standards. But Mrs Timoshenko knows how she has to act at a state visit, today in Israel she looks like she always looks - gorgeous!
oluk (04:50 | 16 January,2007)
yes, soooo gorgeous and a lot of undersexed VR members are walking around stunned into submission - their brains are numb because their blood has rushed elsewhere - but she is just a political peacock - all feathers and no meat - all appearance and no substance - her hair suits the occassion - her 'maddona' outfit in Jerusalem was soooooo convincing that I expect soon she will be nominated for sainthood
Pravda (13:04 | 16 January,2007)
Oluk, that is professional Public Relation, Baby. Do you ever had visit countries like Israel, the USA, Germany and such powers? I'am sure, if Mrs. Timoshenko can get the encouragement from the West, she will be the right president for your Country. Yush is to weak, Yanu doesn't fit for Europeans and the US, there is nobody else. Timoshenko should show what she is able to accomplish.
Angela (15:23 | 16 January,2007)
False hair, false finger nails and false everything.... which constitutes this synthetic beauty are all = to false political attitude.
Chevalier (16:11 | 16 January,2007)
No Angela, Timoshenkos political attitude isn't false at all. Thats the way the business is going to play! She is a professional, or how your ukraine people call it: a samurai or a hetman.
snoopy (22:09 | 16 January,2007)
The new law will make it impossible for the president - every candidate for Foreign Minister will of course be automatically rejected by the Rada making it humiliating to nominate anyone. after 15 days the government will nomiate their own candidate and the president will have no choice but to accept (or resign himself)
Jim (22:36 | 16 January,2007)
Please! This woman is beautiful no matter how she wears her hair. It is good to see a change. Would you rather she look like an old Soviet tractor queen from the days of the leftist dictatorship? (Yes, I know - some of you would - the type who love Hillary Clinton) As for her politics, she may not be perfect, but no one else involved has any stones to throw. She has been Ukraine's most consistent patriot. I just wish that she could be the American president. I would vote for her anytime, (and as many times), as I could. Maybe, Ukraine will install her as queen. All hail, Queen Yuliya!
oluk (01:06 | 17 January,2007)
Jim - would you lust for her as much if she was the one who got the dioxin? Certainly not. You are not commenting on politics - what you need is the latest copy of Playboy
KOZAK (04:39 | 17 January,2007)
Be like a man, get a hair cut.
KOZAK (04:42 | 17 January,2007)
Jim, a woman's beauty is what's in her heart. I don't want to imagine what Yulia's heart looks like.
Jim (04:51 | 17 January,2007)
Oluk- HA! HA! HA! Was that your best shot? I retract nothing, despite your personal attack, reminiscent of a 3rd rate hack law professor's sarcasm. Very neekulturni. As for my "lust", you've caught me, pardon the expression, red-handed. I am so ashamed to be a normal man who admired Yuliya's beauty, intelligence, business sense, patriotism, and courage long before Yushchenko's misfortune. Come on Oluk, surely you can write something better than your last attack. How about a discussion of the issues? I am sure that everyone on this forum will be rooting for you next time.
Jim (04:59 | 17 January,2007)
Kozak, I am not in the position of judging others' hearts. I could be wrong about Yuliya , but so far I have yet to see any other perfect office seekers, and Yuliya's resume and actions impress me. As for the haircut comment, I can't get one right now, because I have a huge racing stripe down the middle of my head. But thanks for the kind thought. Now back to the issues.
oluk (05:39 | 17 January,2007)
Yes Jim, as you said "How about a discussion of the issues?" You are the one to wax lyrical about Yulka's physical appearance. Indeed, she is a very pleasing bit of eye candy. But that has little to do with her political goals or her (lack of) ethics. You will appreciate that BYT still have an active challenge regarding the legality of the anticrisis coalition. My comments could only be interpreted by you as a personal attack if you feel guilty about reading Playboy or about lusting after Yulia. So, Jim, if there is no guilt then there is no insult. You choose. "Na zlodiju shapka horyt."
Yaro (13:52 | 17 January,2007)
Amazing what lowering your hair does to the writers of this forum... as for talking about falsehood... Angela your whole career in Kyiv is based on it.. the brothel... woolen tusk warmers... its all a lost cause. Russification is a falsehood in Ukraine that the nation has had to live with for hundreds of years.. and you talk about falsehood.. You Russifieds invented the word, so dont use it to preach to Ukrainians about politics and such. Yulia could never do the damage to Ukraine that the dozens of Russifieds have done in control of the country in the last century... its time to let her run the nation and the Russifieds to have a little of the treatment they have given out to Ukrainians .... thats what the Russifieds are afraid of .. they like to murder, rape, defraud, corrupt and asset strip... but dont like to be on the end of it being done to them... Russian hypocrites the lot of you.... I guess this loses me any discount in the Brothel Angela.... doesnt matter
KOZAK (15:45 | 17 January,2007)
Yaro, lol.
Jim (18:06 | 17 January,2007)
Oluk-you still don't get it. Your comments are like a person who stopped eating pickles because she could no longer get her head into the jar. In other words, your reasoning and writing are extremely poor and you don't recognize humor. You assume that insult nests only where there is guilt. Not so. If, just for an example, I accuse you of guilt over stupidity, would you feel insult only, if you were indeed stupid? I have no guilt in admiring Yuliya or reading any magazine. This forum's issue is Yuliya's image and politics. I contend that that her beauty is effective coupled with amazing intelligence and stunning leadership, and I reaffirm all I've said. Oluk, please not another comment about me as a flawed human-I'm feeling "guilty" as charged. Do you have an, informed, intelligent, and relevant comment about Ukraine's greatest patriot, Yuliya, or not? Got to go, the local newsstand just opened and I like to keep informed.
Makc (20:24 | 17 January,2007)
{Nasha Ukrajina} abit off topic from her hair....but has anyone noticed how she is constantly trying to get support from Women simply because she is the only Woman party leader in the VR?! ITS A JOKE!!! Everyones feeling sooo sympathetic towards her simply because of the fact she is a WOMAN!!! Funny how that kind of sympathy does not come to Natalia Vitrenko (not that I want to see her get sympathy).....but what is the difference? One is beautiful and the other looks more like a man....but goes to show how male voters can be influenced. NO knowledge of politics, just being pointed in the right direction by a woman's lure.
oluk (00:15 | 18 January,2007)
Jim, Jim, Jim!!! You say to me “… you don't recognize humor” - but do you? You are not guilty of anything except going off topic in the forum. There is nothing wrong with lust. Indeed, Putin is urging his country to engage in lust that leads to procreation. One journalist labelled him the phallic symbol of Russia (the journalist has since been arrested). You may also recall that Jimmy Carter admitted to lust (it can’t be all that bad if he did it). My point is that Yulka’s looks have nothing to do with her political performance and I don’t agree with her tactics if they depend on 'cosmetic public relations'. By all means enjoy the eye candy (her web site is a treasure trove) but don’t confuse her 10 out of 10 rating for looks with her somewhat lower rating (IMO) for politics and past performance as an oligarch. She is pretty on the outside but hard as nails on the inside. If my previous posts have offended I apologize unreservedly. [PS Makc makes a very, very good point.]
Yaro (16:19 | 18 January,2007)
Oluk... your post still lacks logic because whatever you accuse her of.. the fact is she is a veritable saint compared to anything the Party of Russified village idiots can throw on the political scene... Yanukovich for example is a felon, fraudster and would never appear in any western democratic political system because of what he did in 2004... the PRVI is afraid of her because she has the balls to sort them out if she ever came to office... and they would sort her out if they had the means of overthrowing basic democratic principles which they worked so hard to banish in 2004....
Makc (18:51 | 18 January,2007)
{Nasha Ukrajina} Yaro....are you saying that Yulia is good...because she is not AS BAD as the ones from Party of Regions?! This is not a great justification, because if you are looking for the Lesser of Evils.....Yulia may be better than PR....but she is not better for the People's intests than OU and Yehanurov in the chair of PM. Dont defend her with simply "She is better than PR" because there are Plenty of alternatives to PR that are Better than Yulia.
oluk (00:08 | 19 January,2007)
Yaro - not sure what part you are referring to - my views on Yulka are that she is a clever operator and has used her appearance strategically - playing up to those who make judgements on superficial things - I think that more or less she is as committed to the nation as Yush - although they have played stupid politics and fought each other - there is no comparison of Yulka and Yush to any anticrisis members and I would never put any of them ahead of Yush and Yulka - that does not mean I think she is a saint - I think she is very determined, manipulative, intelligent but also narcissistic - but at least what she does is generally good for Ukraine - until she gave Yanuk more power (only if the law gets signed, perhaps Moroz will get cold feet) - the bottom line is that IMO she is one of the two that are good for Ukraine but that does not mean she is faultless - or beyond criticism - when using Yanuk as the yardstick Yulka and Yush do look like saints as you say but then so would most
oluk (00:09 | 19 January,2007)
Makc - again, I agree with you as you can see
oluk (01:14 | 19 January,2007)
PS - using only one word, my personal ratings for the gang of four: Titillating Tymoshenko; Vacillating Victor Yush; Violating Victor Yanuk ; and Mercenary Moroz.
Makc (21:21 | 19 January,2007)
{Nash Ukraijina} haha, very nice Oluk. I think me and you have alot in common when it comes to political interpratation and outlook.
Richard (21:43 | 22 January,2007)
First Moroz, and now Tymoshenko. Why? The old human failings... power and money...
untermensch (07:58 | 12 March,2007)
Be nice. Yulia had to accomplish something in the new year. This new hairstyle is something that will show the people of Ukraine she is an intelligent and ethical leader. My bet is that peroxide futures will be up substantially tomorrow morning, signalling the revival of the Ukrainian economy..
low&loud (04:49 | 22 October,2007)
As an American I can only say that we have never seen a woman of this stature and accomplishment in our government that is hellbent on war. At least she speaks with a quiet certitude that instills admiration in this individual.
