Yanukovych's Lust for Power Yanukovych's Lust for Power

LETTER-TO-THE-EDITOR: By Taras Kuzio
The Washington Times, Washington, D.C., Thursday, April 26, 2007

Ukrainian Premier Viktor Yanukovich points the blame at President Viktor
Yushchenko for violating the constitution when he disbanded parliament
("Ukrainian premier outlines plans for the future," Op-Ed, Monday). Mr.
Yanukovich's record of adhering to the constitution and rule of law is as
bad, if not worse.

The Council of Europe ruled that the constitutional reforms were adopted
illegally, but Mr. Yanukovich ignored its recommendations.

After Mr. Yushchenko was elected, Mr. Yanukovich's Party of Regions
paralyzed the constitutional court by blocking the allocation of judges by
parliament. More recently, Mr. Yanukovich's coalition refused to join the
president's constitutional commission.

Both sides, especially Mr. Yanukovich, should learn to abide by the rule of
law and constitution and not attempt to monopolize power by upsetting the
balance of power. Mr. Yanukovich's greed for power has led ultimately to the
president's decree, and an early election is the only way out of the crisis.

You CIA Agent,Mr.TARAS KUZIO, how can you explain the charge that Yanukovich's party blocked "allocation".., I guess you meant "appointment" of Judges by paralysing constitutional court through blocking parliament??? PR had only 45 MPs at the time. It was BYT & Lytvin factions and the Communists that actually paralysd the court. PR was actually helping the OU at the time to maintain governance as BYT went into opposition after the sack of its leader by Yuschenko. You must remove your ugly nose from this country because we have since known that you and Tammy Lynch are not thinking good of Ukraine, but how to destroy it.

Anita, you seem to think that whoever is associated with foreign country or its academic institution, like George Washington University, or any other county's capital like Moscow, is by association an agent of that country or institution. Russia and Ukraine have at least 100.000 each of their scientists working in research laboratories around the world and isn't it ridiculous by your definition to call them foreign agents.

I hope you are correct that with the new elections on Sept 30 that Blue will be relegated to the opposition and Orange will be the majority.

Thank you Mr Kuzio, it is always a delight to read your factual and informative articles. It always remains the ken of the intelligent to decipher the truth from the communist crap.

Mr Kuzio - Once again, right on the nail with an excellent article. Free-Speech, the failed Australian politician who garnered 12 votes when he attempted to usurp the Melbourne council of their power; continues to try and block the way to true democracy. Free-Speech who allows freedom of speech for no one but himself. Free-Speech, the most blinkered piece of written-off communist junk to inhabit Ukraine. Free-Speech, blog owner allowing no comments on his blog but his own. Freedom of speech? He doesn't even know what freedom of speech is. Go, Yushenko, go - onwards and upwards. Rid Ukraine of the crap in the VR. Do it for Ukraine and its people. Work with Yuri and Yulia to make democracy work for the benefit of all.

Note the wordpress blog (ripping off this new site) is "moderated" and has contributions from p-ced review, who is of course Free Speech. And here's another of the Van der Craats performances, a one-man forum on U Pravda:- http://forum.pravda.com.ua/list.php?9
