Yanukovich: Joining NATO is a hasty decision

Ex-premier of Ukraine, leader of "Party of regions" Victor Yanukovich considers that decision about Ukraine joining NATO is a hasty one and it is necessary to conduct a referendum for its acceptance.

Yanukovich also negatively estimated personnel changes in government. "There are no other approaches in the world, except for professional one", - he said, expressing opinion, that for work at state level specialists would have to develop their qualification.

Speaking about the revision of privatized objects in Ukraine, in particular "Krivorojstal", Yanukovich said: "If law was broken, guilty of it should pay".

He also expressed a confidence that soon people will begin to ask new power questions about increase of social payments promised during elections. Yanukovich declared that political force which he represented would defend people’s interests.

Ex-premier underlined also, that pursuit of his electors was an actual problem for today, and demanded president Victor Yushchenko to "put emotions away and to start a normal life".
