The fate of the tent town in Mariinsky Park will be known soon

Today the Shevchenkovsky Court will examine the action brought by Kiev city state administration against Kiev organization "Ukraine region Youth union" concerning the tent town settlement in Mariinsky Park. The tent town was organized as a protest action against political pressure on members of Party of Regions.

As the press-service of "Ukraine region Youth union" reported, the first court meeting took place on April 14, but was postponed as the claimer had no proofs of breach of the peace by residents of the tent town. The court obliged the claimer to give proofs of breach, if there are any, during period from 10 to 14 of April.

Despite the statement of Cabinet, the power structures resort to many court actions to prevent public organizations from conducting peaceful meetings. "The administration again breaks the principles of democracy and promises, given on Majdan," the press-service reported.
