Kolesnikov may stay in custody till January

Today Kiev Appeal Court is considering an application of General Office of Public Prosecutor concerning prolonging the term of custody for the head of Donetsk regional council Boris Kolesnikov for nine months (till January 6, 2006).

The judge has removed Andrey Fedur, Kolesnikov’s lawyer, from office, after which the representative of Progressive Socialistic Party of Ukraine, Vladimir Marchenko, has been taken out of the Court because of the shouts.

Besides, Fedur declared that having removed him from office of Kolesnikov’s attorney the Court violated Kolesnikov’s right on free choice of an advocate.

Representatives of Party of Regions and All-Ukrainian public youth organization "Regions Youth Union" are holding the protest action in front of the Court. They ask to release Kolesnikov from the custody.
