National company Naftogaz
Ukrainy points out that Ukraine
does not siphoned off Russian gas without authorization.
“Declarations of Gazprom
officials about unapproved extraction of 100 mln cu m of Russian gas on January
1 are absolute lie,” declared Eduard Zenyuk, Nagtogas press secretary.
According to him, if Ukraine allegedly siphoned off Russian gas
without authorization, then Gazprom delivered gas into the gas-transport system
of Ukraine
also without authorization. Zenyuk noted that in this case Russian gas might be
considered as contraband, UNIAN reported.
Zenyuk also informed that gas
from Turkmenistan reaches territory of Ukraine for 36 hours, therefore, January
1 Ukraine was receiving Turkmen gas, contracted in 2005. According to his
conviction, Gazprom Vice-President Alexander Medvedev’s accusations against Ukraine are
groundless.
In his turn, PM’s press secretary
Valentin Mandrievsky declares that Ukraine will follow the previous
contracts concerning gas supply till new ones have agreed.
