Ukraine and Russia to extend gas-pipeline building


Russian-Ukrainian joint venture on gas transportation is to be formed in the shortest possible time, as declared Minister for Fuel and Energy Ivan Plachkov.

“We are working at formation of the joint venture. We are in for a great work,” said Plachkov in an interview to journalists in Astana after the ceremony of inauguration of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Plachkov also informed that Ukraine would start building a gas-pipeline Boguchany-Uzhgorod in the first quarter of 2006, RIA Novosty reported.

According to his words, in the near future it will be discussed a possibility of expansion of new gas-pipeline sections’ building on the territory of both Ukraine and Russia, as well as on the territory of the third countries.
