Ukraine and Kazakhstan to cooperate in the pipeline construction project

The construction of the pipeline section from Odesa to “Southern” sea terminal may be launched in the first quarter of 2006, Energy Minister of Ukraine Ivan Plachkov told in Astana.

“We have elaborated the construction project of fifty-two-kilometres of oil pipeline, created joint enterprise, finished organization procedures and we think the construction of the first section will be launched in the first quarter,” Plachkov said.

He mentioned that the technical and economical basis for the construction of the extra section Brody-Plotsk-Gdansk has been processing by the special commission. Kazakhstan is very interested in the project, Plachkov told. When the international consortium finishes all preliminary calculations Kazakhstan will settle down in the project realization.

He also informed that Kazakhstan and Ukraine reached the agreement on joint exploring and extraction of carbohydrates in Kazakh territory.
