Kryvorizhstal metallurgical mill to be renamed

On January 12 shareholders of the Kryvorizhstal metallurgical mill (Dnipropetrovsk region) decided to rename the enterprise Mittal Steel Kryvyi Rih.

According to the mill's press office, the mill will be given the new name after the registration of a new wording of the enterprise statute.

Note: Kryvorizhstal finished 2004 with a net profit of UAH 2,012.610 million. Revenue of the company rose by UAH 34.1% or UAH 2,566.913 million compared with 2003, to UAH 10,099.849 million.

Kryvorizhstal is the largest producer of rolled steel in Ukraine. It specializes in the production of elongated rolled products, including steel reinforcement bars and iron rods.

Mittal Steel Germany GmbH, which is part of the Mittal Steel international holding, the world largest steel producer, owns 93.02% of shares in Kryvorizhstal.
