Ukraine faces repeated dismissals

After the conciliatory council of leaders of parliamentary groups and factions Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn declared that in the near future some ministers would be removed from their offices.

According to him, “there are some people in the government, with whom it is very difficult to work.”

VR Speaker confessed that at the last meeting with the President he personally offered Yushchenko to take part in dismissal of some ministers. According to Lytvyn words, “there is a certain allergy in the parliament and the society,” and such decision should be made sooner or later. At the same time he noted that the dismissals should not resemble political repressions.

In response to the question who will appoint new ministers, Lytvyn noted that it is President’s right up till formation of a new parliament after the elections, though some deputies have another opinion as for this.

Lytvyn reported that the parliament had registered the corresponding draft decrees, but he did not name ministers subjected to dismissal.
