President of Ukaine had a phone conversation with President of Russia

Victor Yushchenko telephoned Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the gas issue. Then they spoke about Russia’s recent decision not to import Ukrainian milk products and meat. The sides agreed to hold intergovernmental negotiations to solve this problem.

The Presidents also discussed the Russian Navy issue and decided to resolve the problem of navigation facilities in Crimea at a meeting of the Yushchenko-Putin Commission in February. Then they discussed upcoming visits of Russian ministers to Ukraine.
