Tarasyuk: Future of Ukraine is linked with Europe


“The ongoing dialogue with European and Transatlantic institutions makes us optimistic regarding the prospects of Ukraine,” stressed Borys Tarasyuk, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine addressing to the students and professors of the Leiden University, one of the oldest universities in Europe, press office of Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed.

In his speech dedicated to the European integration of Ukraine the Minister outlined the main priorities of Ukrainian foreign policy, presented his vision of our country’s role and place in the all-European political, economic, social and cultural processes.

In particular, Tarasyuk stressed that future of Ukraine is linked with Europe and their interdependency is doubtless. “Doing all the necessary work to approach desired membership, we pay a special attention to our region, which is an integral part of European socio-cultural area,” the Minister said.

Following the speech Mr Tarasyuk answered the questions of audience regarding current developments in Ukraine, our country’s priorities in the European processes, Ukraine’s proposals aimed to strengthen security and stability in the region. The head of Ukrainian foreign policy department noted that promoting of democracy, ensuring of stability and security had become basic principles of present-day internal and external policy of Ukraine.
