Yushchenko wants the rich pay taxes for the poor

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko underlines the necessity to pass Tax Code in 2006 and considers that it may become “very right political engagement.”

Speaking before students of Taras Shevchenko’s Kyiv National University Yushchenko pointed out that existence of shady economy is conditioned by that the tax system was worked out as far back as the Soviet times.

“There are a lot of rich people in Ukraine and they must pay corresponding taxes for the poor,” noted the President.

Yushchenko expressed assurance that “Tax Code will be passed in the Parliament in 2006 and it will serve changes of fiscal system.”
