The round-table conversation “Korea Republic: the prospects of cooperation with Ukraine” was held in Kyiv. In the course of the discussion Andriy Nikolayenko MP Spokesman told the auditory about interest of Korea in scientific and technical cooperation within the aerospace field.
“Unlike many Asian countries, Korea is interested not only in our know-how technologies but in joint production of carrier-rockets,” stressed Nikolayenko. The idea to construct a space centre in Korea with Ukrainian expert intake is being considered now, he adds.
Moreover, the next perspective field for cooperation is military technical sphere, Nikolayenko told.
“We made the agreement on cooperation in the military sphere with Korea Republic in 2005. Now we ask Verkhovna Rada to ratify this year agreement as soon as possible,” concluded Nikolayenko.
The discussion was focused on different aspects of cooperation, such as realization of Chernobyl disaster consequences liquidation and Samsung and Kharkiv Monocrystal Institute joint venture of transistor and electronic production for civil and military needs.
Ukraine-Korea external turnover of goods and services made $850.7 million in 2005.
