President of Ukraine accepted credentials

In Mariinsky Palace, new ambassadors of Korea, Uzbekistan, Panama, Kenya, Benin and San Marino presented their credentials to Victor Yushchenko.

Addressing the diplomats, he said it was quite symbolic that they represent four continents.

“This shows again that Ukraine and your countries want to build dynamic relations regardless of geography,” he said.

Mr. Yushchenko added that Ukraine intended to “noticeably activate its diplomatic efforts in the world.”

He also reiterated that elections would be conducted in our country on Sunday: “I am convinced you will witness the first fair and transparent vote. We really wanted to demonstrate our great respect for people and voters and emphasize their unique right to be free and elect freely.”

Then hewished the ambassadors success and saidhe hoped their workwould help strengthen our bilateral relations.
