Tomenko to save village schools


The Budget 2007 shows that the Government of Ukraine did not make the education system strategic and priority task of the country. The people’s deputy of Ukraine, a member of BYuT faction Mykola Tomenko told the parliamentary journalists, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

Tomenko noted that nowadays there are many problems in education system, the main of which is the problem of quality of secondary education, lack of computers provision in particular.

“The problem is that books without correspondent addition as computer program should not be published,” Tomenko said.

He noted that it is necessary for teachers not only “to press the buttons” on the keyboard but also use computer programs.

The parliament considers conception on closing of village schools anti village. He said that it is necessary not to close village school as birth rate is increasing in Ukraine. Moreover Tomenko stressed that nowadays that problem on pupils health and school transport are still not carried out.
