Fuel and Energy Minister predicts growing prices for Russian nuclear fuel


Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko predicts 25% growth of prices for nuclear fuel, which is bought in Russia for Ukrainian nuclear power plants, in 2008. The Cabinet's press office reports.

Presently, the monopolist supplier of nuclear fuel for Ukrainian NPPs is the Russian company TVEL.

In compliance with the schedule, which was arranged by EnergoAtom and TVEL in 2007, in first half of 2008 fuel at all 15 Ukraine's reactors are supposed to be refreshed.
