Tymoshenko: Government must fulfill plan of anti-inflationary measures


The Government has to work out and ensure implementation of a particular plan of anti-inflationary measures, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko told a meeting with representatives of the Economics Ministry, Finance Ministry, Agricultural Policy Ministry, Fuel and Energy Ministry, State Tax Administration and State Customs Service dedicated to seeking mechanisms to slow down inflation. Government's press service reports.

"Previous Government has left an unprecedented inflation rate of 17 percent," the Prime Minister said.

She stressed that "inflation process is to be stopped immediately when carrying out the work exclusively in the framework of requirements for the accession into the World Trade Organization".

According to the State Statistics Committee, the inflation rate in January-November 2007 posted 14.2 percent, while in November the inflation grew by 2.2 percent.
