Railway tickets are getting higher

Transport Minister Yosyf Vinsky stated on Tuesday that tariffs for railway passenger transportations would not decrease but would be increased quarterly by 5% in 2008. As a reminder, since January 1, 2008 price for railway tickets increased by 10%. It means that by the end of the current year tariffs for railway tickets will be increased by 30%.

Yosyf Vinsky also promised to put into operation about 300 new carriages (that is almost twice more than was bought for last 16 years).

Increase of tariffs for railway transportations is explained by increase of prices for production bought for railway branch. Level of tariffs for railway tickets are much low than rates of prices for production for railway branch (prices for railing, diesel oil, electricity).
