Tymoshenko promises not to allow inflation shocks

The government has elaborated complex of anti-inflation measures for 2008. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko informed today at the press conference in Dnipropetrovsk.

“At first it is a coordination between government and National bank of monetary policy. Emission must not influence price stability on stock market as well as on retail market. It is obvious,” she said.

According to Tymoshenko, the government together with National bank will fix all necessary steps including those concerning situation on commodity markets.

The government held several meetings to find out where monopolistic markets are and where it is necessary to carry out intervention or monopolization.

According to Tymoshenko, this year there will be no such inflation shocks as in previous year. The policy will be right and will not allow any breaks like in past year.
