President wrote letter to PM


President Viktor Yushchenko wrote a letter to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. President's press office reports.

In his letter President draws Prime Minister’s attention to language policy question. According to Yushchenko, subject of state language policy and all-round implementation of Ukrainian language as official in all fields of public life has current importance.

Therefore President requested Prime Minister to ensure proper revision of Concept of state language policy with the help from National Academy of Sciences experts and present it for approval of the President of Ukraine.  Yushchenko also asked Tymoshenko to consider establishing a central executive body which would shape and implement state language policy in order to improve its effectiveness and coordination.
