NATO waits for formal address from Ukraine on Action Plan on membership in the organization. Representative of the Alliance James Appathurai informed.

NATO will refrain form comments until there is no formal document from Kyiv. It is expected that Foreign Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko will give the address of the Ukrainian leadership on Friday during his visit to headquarter of the Alliance, where he will meet with General Secretary Yap de Hoop Scheffer.

Also, Appathurai has said that NATO doesn’t look for new members, but it welcomes those countries, which have decided to join the organization and correspond to definite standards and share its values, such as democracy.
