Taylor: Ukrainian people to decide on joining NATO

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA to Ukraine William Taylor considers that Ukrainian people must take a decision on Ukraine’s joining NATO. He told journalists on Thursday.

According to Taylor, the dialog, which has been started between Ukraine and NATO, will last for several years. It must give impetus to dialog between Ukrainians, because Ukraine’s joining NATO is apprehended by Ukrainian citizens in different ways.

According to the diplomat, after finishing the interior dialog concerning joining NATO, “Ukrainian people will decide whether to join NATO or not”.

“And this decision, which will be taken, is not a decision for Americans, European countries, or Russians. This decision is for Ukrainians,” the Ambassador said.
