Yushchenko met with President of EBRD and WTO Director-General

On Thursday President Viktor Yushchenko met with the President of European Bank of Reconstruction and Development Jean Lemierre, according to president's press office.

V. Yushchenko thanked P. Lamy for the support of Ukraine’s efforts on its way to the WTO and expressed hope for the support of Director-General in concluding the process positively during the WTO General Council meeting on February 5-6.

President also informed that after Ukraine joining the WTO it plans to start talks with the EU on free trade zone establishment immediately. Pascal Lamy from his part invited Victor Yushchenko to participate in the abovementioned meeting of the WTO General Council.
