Ministry of Coal Industry offers to sell coal at exchange auctions


The Ministry of Coal Industry has initiated the sale of coal at exchange auctions.

The move presages completion of the formation of the wholesale market of coal, the Ministry's statement says, noting that formation of this market is one of the priority areas of the Ministry's activity, governmnet press service informs.

Moreover, the Ministry foresees adaptation of the prices of coke to those of metal on the global markets as well as determining the price of power station coal on the basis of its value, consumption properties, interchangeability and ecological characteristics in comparison with other fuels.

Earlier Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko urged a review of the coal industry's performance in 2002-2007.
