Yushchenko considers Ukraine will have interesting negotiations with Russia

President Viktor Yushchenko intends to use Ukraine’s accession to the WTO for strengthening of Ukrainian positions in trade arguments with Russia. He said that in an interview with France-press.

"Considering Russia's own aspirations to join the WTO, we will have interesting negotiations" on thorny issues such as Russian antidumping duties, Yushchenko said.

"It's the sovereign right of every nation to set its own security policies and we are exercising this right," Yushchenko commented on Ukraine’s intention to join Action plan on membership in NATO.

"It's not a question that can be decided overnight, or in a year. It's the subject of difficult discussions with the Ukrainian people," said.

As a reminder, Yushchenko's visit to the Russian Federation is scheduled for February 12.
