Ukraine will remain key transit area?

"Ukraine is a reliable transit partner," German Ambassador to Ukraine Reinhard Schafers said in interview with newspaper "2000", according to Cabinet press service.

He noted that Europe cannot do without Ukraine on the issue of transit deliveries in the nearest future. "Those building or planning to build pipes bypassing Ukraine must realize that it is impossible to circumvent this country in 20 years to come, as the pipelines being built will meet just the increasing demand for energy carriers," the ambassador says.

Thus, as he put it, the bulk of oil and gas will be carried across Ukraine in the coming two decades.
