President Yushchenko met with Ze'ev Bielski


President Viktor Yushchenko met yesterday with the Chairman of Executive of the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization Ze'ev Bielski. President’s press office reports.

During the meeting parties discussed state of affairs with Jewish minority in Ukraine. The President informed the Chairman on cultural projects development such as placing a monument to Z. Zhabotynsky in Odessa and opening a memorable sign to A. Shapiro in Zaporizhya, celebration of 150th anniversary of Sholem Aleichem’s birthday, etc.

Much attention was also paid to discussing Holodomor. Viktor Yushchenko expressed expectations that Israeli side would support Ukraine in its ambition to recognize the Great Famine as genocide.
