Communists will not support Ukraine’s accession to the WTO

CPU faction will not support ratification of the Protocol on Ukraine’s accession to the WTO. CPU People’s deputy Olexander Holub said that today, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“We will not vote for such ratification. Such haste this Protocol is signed with, does not take into consideration interests of Ukrainian commodity producers,” Holub said in particular.

According to Holub, the document does not foresee indexation of losses of Ukrainian commodity producers and also the whole range of branches of economy. “As a result of Ukraine’s accession to the WTO, Ukraine will lose its foreign colleagues,” he added.

Holub explained that it threats not only of loss of competitiveness of Ukrainian goods on world market but also loss of working places.

At the same time, Holub noted that the parliament would vote for ratification of the given Protocol because majority of factions, including Party of Regions had supported a range of draft bills allowing Ukraine to accede to the WTO.

As a reminder, yesterday President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and Director General of the WTO Pascal Lame have signed Protocol on Ukraine’s accession to the WTO.
