President honors Afghan veterans


Today President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has attended a flower-laying ceremony to honor veterans of the Afghan war.

As the press office of the President informs, among the participants of the ceremony there were NSDCU Secretary Raisa Bohatyryova, Deputy Prime Minister Olexander Turchynov, Defense Minister Yuriy Ekhanurov, First deputy Head of Security Service Valentyn Nalyvaychenko and Kyiv Regional Administration Head Vira Ulyanchenko.

After laying flowers to the Memorial to Ukrainian soldiers killed in Afghanistan those present observed one minute of silence.

14:42 At present the Ukrainian Agrarian Fund purchased almost 900 thousand tons of grain in order to form the state food reserve. At the same time, 287 thousand tons are already included in the reserve, Deputy Agrarian Minister Yaroslav Hadzalo told.
