Yushchenko: Ukraine hasn’t determined its position on Kosovo

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko claims that Ukraine will continue to hold bilateral consultations with its strategic partners concerning recognition of Kosovo’s independence. The Head of the State stated in an interview with journalists in Dnipropetrovsk.

“Ukraine will continue to hold bilateral consultations concerning this question. I have charged the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine to hold consultations with the countries of the EU, Russia and the USA – our key strategic partners,” he stated.

According to Yushchenko, the fact that many countries have not yet published their position concerning recognition or non-recognition of Kosovo sovereignty indicates that this is not a “simple solution”.

The Head of the Stated has noted that for Ukraine the decision of the OSCE is very important for determination of the position.

The President has also noted that in his opinion the negotiation process between Kosovo and Serbia has not been completed.
