Yushchenko removed gas tensions with Russia


At 9.30 a.m., before his flight to Chernihiv region, President Viktor Yushchenko held a meeting with Vice Prime Minister Olexander Turchynov. President’s press office reports.

During the meeting Olexander Turchynov informed Viktor Yushchenko on state of affairs with paying off debts to Russia for the supplied gas.

President was informed that on February 26 NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine has transferred UAH 2.2 billion to the accounts of companies supplying gas to Ukraine. Thus, according to Naftogaz, Ukrainian side has paid off entire debt.

Viktor Yushchenko informed that on Tuesday evening he had a talk with President of the Russian Federation, during which Yushchenko informed about the implementation of agreement in gas relations, which had been reached at the highest level during Ukrainian President’s visit to Moscow.
