President draws PM's attention to bookselling problems

On February 28 President Viktor Yushchenko sent a letter to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. In his letter President drew Prime Minister’s attention to problems in national bookselling network, president's press office reported.

According to Yushchenko since 1990 the number of bookshops in Ukraine has decreased nine times and is currently equals to about 400. “Such condition of bookselling network can not fully satisfy the need for Ukrainian books," President said in his letter.

Regarding that, Yushchenko asked Tymoshenko to make appropriate steps to increase a number of bookselling shops in Ukraine with adopting a corresponding Cabinet of Ministers regulation.
