PM considers Europe and USA helped Ukraine to solve gas problem


Support of Europe and the USA helped Ukraine to solve gas problem. Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said that yesterday at briefing in Brussels after the meeting with state secretary of the USA Condoleezza Rice.

Tymoshenko noted that the main issue she discussed with US state secretary was energy security of Ukraine.

“Today Ukraine is looking for support in order to make projects on diversification and to be protected in the world from energy dependence,” Tymoshenko said.

She also discussed with Rice reaction of the USA to cut of gas supplies to Ukraine.

“The USA reacted to the situation with support for Ukraine. I think both support of Europe and the USA gave us possibility to start solving gas instability which we inherited from previous representatives of power,” she said.
