Yushchenko met with President of Tajikistan


President Viktor Yushchenko met today in Dushanbe with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, president's press office reported.

The parties discussed bilateral relations between the countries including trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation. Special attention was paid to hydro-electric engineering cooperation.

The Presidents also discussed opening diplomatic missions of Ukraine in Tajikistan and of Tajikistan in Ukraine. President Yushchenko repeated his invitation to President Rahmon tovisit Ukraine.

After the bilateral meeting of Presidents of Ukraine and of Tajikistan, talks in extended format began. Members from Ukrainian side were Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko, Minister for Culture Vasyl Vovkun, Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan, Minister of Industrial Policy Volodymyr Novytsky, Minister for Regional Development Vasyl Kuybida, Minister of Housing Oleksiy Kucherenko, deputy President’s Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleksandr Chalyy, Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration head Viktor Bondar.
