Public bus drivers strike


Drivers of public buses (marshrutka) threaten to block the center of Kyiv tomorrow if the authorities of the city do not fulfill their demands to increase fares. Chairman of the Ukrainian Association of Car Carriers Vitaliy Reva said that today on 5 channel, ForUm reports.

According to him, today about 2 thousand Kyiv public bus drivers took part in the strike and did not come to their work places. The aim of the strike is fare increase.

Ukrainian Association of Car Carriers has appealed to Kyiv city council. If the city council does not take appropriate actions, then drivers will block the traffic in center of Kyiv”

He added that now the Kyiv city council has not taken part in the negotiations yet.
