Yushchenko states about mutual understanding of Ukraine and EU

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko states that Ukraine and the European Union have mutual understanding in the question on Euro Atlantic integration of Ukraine. He told journalists on Thursday in Brussels after the meeting with EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana.

Yushchenko noted that the question on Ukraine’s joining NATO was discussed during the meeting with Solana. In particular, according to him, it concerned consideration of the question on Ukraine’s joining NATO Action Membership Plan at the NATO summit in Bucharest. “We found big understanding,” the President noted.

Yushchenko said that during the meeting the wide range of questions was discussed, starting from the bilateral relations of Ukraine-EU, which are being developed dynamically, according to him.

In his turn, Solana noted that there is great potential in relations between Ukraine and the European Union. He expressed assurance that these relations will be more solid.
