OSCE High Commissioner to arrive to Kyiv

The OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities Knut Vollebekk will arrive in Ukraine Tuesday, Cabinet press service reported.

His visit will focus on issues concerning observance of rights of the deported peoples and minority languages. In particular, while in Simferopol Mr. Vollebekk is expected to meet with the Crimean authorities and members of NGOs representing different ethnic communities.

The High Commissioner is also expected to meet with President Viktor Yushchenko and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rayisa Bohatyriova as well as with senior officials of the Foreign, Justice, Culture and Tourism, and Education and Science Ministries.
