President took part in Ukrainian Interior Forces Day celebration

President Viktor Yushchenko took part yesterday in Ukrainian Interior Forces Day celebration. President's press office reports.

Greeting the servicemen with the anniversary of Ministry of Interior, President made positive remarks on their professional activity.

Separately he dwelled on participation of Ukrainian interior forces in international peacekeeping operations. “It improves international prestige of our state,” said Viktor Yushchenko. He also informed that according to a decision of the NSDC the Government is to grant the servicemen who work in Kosovo the status of military operations participants.

As both Head of State and Supreme Commander in chief Viktor Yushchenko thanked the interior forces for their work and effective execution of official and combat tasks pointing to their significance in guaranteeing state security.
