Ukraine waits for Russian response to Luzhkov’s statements

Foreign Ministry of Ukraine considers statements of Moscow Mayor Yuriy Luzhkov about Sevastopol “as planned action, directed at disruption of positive dynamics of the Ukrainian-Russian relations”. Press secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Vasyl Kyrylych informed on Monday.

“Statements of Luzhkov we consider as a step which causes tension in the society and complicates a prospective of the Ukrainian-Russian partnership,” Kyrylych emphasized.

He noted that words of Luzhkov are interference in the internal policy of Ukraine and are the attempt to call territorial integrity of Ukraine in question.

“We do not consider statements of Luzhkov as official position but at the same time we hope that official authorities of the Russian Federation will disprove statements of Luzhkov,” the press secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine summarized.
