President of Ukraine is sure of prospective of Ukraine’s joining NATO Membership Action Plan. He stated at a press conference in Vilnius.
"I am absolutely optimistic concerning Ukraine’s joining NATO Membership Action Plan because of different reasons, starting from the fact that it is in the interests of both all-European interests or national interests of Ukraine," Viktor Yushchenko said.
He expressed assurance that today the question concerning Ukraine's membership in NATO for Ukrainian people and its Euro-Atlantic partners is not principle, but it concerns the date when it will take place.
However, the Head of State believes that for the time that is left until December, Ukraine must carry out a number of steps. It means the active work of the mass media, political circles, and public initiatives in order citizens of Ukraine to make their views concerning effective model of national security policy and importance of integration of Ukraine into NATO.
According to the President, Ukraine must also increase number of international partners who will attempt to support the State to join the MAP.
