President Yushchenko met with President Shimon Peres


In Jerusalem President Viktor Yushchenko met with President of the State of Israel Shimon Peres. President’s press office reports. Opening the meeting Viktor Yushchenko greeted his Israeli colleague with the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel and wished prosperity to its nation. “On behalf of Ukraine I cordially congratulate the people of Israel with the 60th anniversary of its State establishment and address it with my word of the deepest respect,” Viktor Yushchenko said in his address.

Then parties discussed some points in bilateral relations between the countries such as liberalization of visa regulations, establishment of a free trade zone, humanitarian cooperation, etc.

President Yushchenko also invited Shimon Peres to visit Ukraine officially in the second half of 2008.
