CE Secretary General Terry Davis called on to follow Ukraine`s example

Council of Europe Secretary General Terry Davis has written to the President of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to congratulate him because the Court has now cleared all its outstanding cases from 2006 and 2007.

According to a Council of Europe’s press-release, the Court`s President, Mr Andriy Stryzhak, had committed to do so during a meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in November 2007.

"Unfortunately, the old saying `justice delayed is justice denied` applies to far too many Courts in Europe. These other Courts should follow the example set by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine," said Terry Davis.
