Yushchenko asked USA to transfer military ships

Ukraine and the USA study an issue on possibility to transfer the American military ships to the Ukrainian Naval Forces of Ukraine.

The US Defense Minister Robert Gates told today after the meeting with the Ukrainian Defense Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov.

Gates informed that the consultations on this issue continue and the next stage will take place in California.

The President Viktor Yushchenko also drew attention to this issue during his visit to the USA.
