Ukraine stands higher chances to get second tranche of IMF loan

The letter of intent increased chances for allocation of the second tranche of the International Monetary Fund loan to Ukraine, IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn said during a telephone talk with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko. The talk was held at Yushchenko's initiative, the presidential press service reported.

Yushchenko informed Strauss-Kahn about the results of the meeting on coordination of efforts of all branches of state power and political forces in crisis conditions of economy development, where the letter of intent to the International Monetary Fund was compiled.

The IMF managing director welcomed the common stand of the Ukrainian authority and their striving to take measures for the development of the national economy in the global financial crisis situation.

Strauss-Kahn assured that, as soon as the letter comes to the International Monetary Fund, it will be examined.
